Vacations & Spray Tans

Wanting a tan for your up coming Vacation but wondering how it will pan out once you get on your vacation? You are not the only one. I'll break down Frequently Asked Questions and some Tips to help maintain your tan and it's longevity.

First and foremost. Spray Tan's DO NOT replace sunscreen. Not only do we love Spray Tans for their instant color but for the UV less application it is done. So PLEASE protect yourself and your skin and put some SPF on. TIP: Another plus about the sunscreen is to use a waterproof and oil free sunscreen. This will act as a barrier and help protect that Spray Tan from the harsh chlorine that can strip it faster and the Ocean as it is a natural exfoliant: Waves, Salt water & Sand.

Will my tan last long going into the Ocean and/or pool?

It can fade faster for a few reasons. Getting in and out of chlorinated pool or chemically treated hot tub as well as the ocean are changing your skin pH balance. When changing your pH balance you are risking the tan fading quicker or causing blotchiness/speckling.

There are a few things you can do to help this:

-Cleanse the skin immediately after getting out from your swim by doing a quick warm water rinse and pat your skin dry.

-Moisturize every time you get in and out/After your warm water shower as listed above.

-And again, Apply waterproof/Oil Free Sunscreen 20 minutes before your swim.

Your tan will fade more quickly than if you were not enjoying the vacation for all it is worth but why do that, right?

PRO TIP:

-Get a Tan Extending Lotion!! These not only are Spray Tan friendly but have active DHA meaning it will continue to give you a tan and often fill in uneven areas if you continue to use it. Believe me, you WANT this! It's the same price as your Bath & Body works lotions but with a tan.

-Tan in Can is a great option to have on hand if your tan fades more quickly or in a certain area more than another. This happens with the legs from hanging in the water. It's an easy DIY Airbrush Tan literally in a can using the same professional grade tan used by your Tanning Artist.
